Podcast

I guess you could say that I am technology challenged. Ever since I was a little girl, I would have my dad or older sister help me with anything computer  or electronic related. No matter how hard I try to understand Excel, updating my computer or even using I-tunes, it simply never clicked.

The process of doing this assignment was really good for me. It helped me learn how to apply the knowledge I do know and work independently and through problem solving figure out my other questions. Now that I am in college, I do not have my dad or sisters to ask for help as easily. It is a bitter sweet reality for me. I am learning to be more independent and not rely on others so much but at the same time, having to deal with it by myself. With the help of Mr. Overall and some classmates, I finally figured out how to drag music clips down, cut out parts of my podcast and put it all together.

My biggest struggle of this whole process was changing it to an MP3 file and uploading that. I called a classmate in utter panic as the deadline was creeping up, looked up tutorials on youtube and looked online too. Nothing seemed to be helping me figure out what was going wrong. I finally figured out how to upload my Podcast, luckily for me, I have a very patient professor.

  1. Wow your story is so similar to my own. I also am not very tech savvy and this project definitely gave me a challenge: adapting files, cutting sound clips, recording, ect. I'm happy that someone else experienced the same problems I did.

  2. The podcast was a very challenging task. How do you make words into sounds? I am slightly technologically challenged as well. Thank God I had worked on garage band before. Thanks for letting us know what you went through.
